Our 300-year-old mill has been extensively renovated in recent years and now presents itself as a large, stately home in a dignified country house style on a well-kept, enclosed plot of around 7000 square metres. Situated in the heart of Charente Maritime, close to the Atlantic Ocean, it has beautifully tastefully designed and appointed interiors, coupled with a relaxing outdoor environment which, together with the two heated swimming pools (in use between 15 April and 01 October) and the well-proportioned pool area, offers you the perfect opportunity to relax in the French countryside.The property is extensive and offers many different places and spaces where you can relax: whether in the spacious, separate pool area with teak furniture, on the play area, by the two small rivers that flow through the property and even through the house, by the pizza oven, playing billiards, table football, table tennis or on the boules court, which is also floodlit in the evening. For children there are games, a Wii console, outdoor games and a playhouse. The house is in a very quiet location in the agricultural zone, close to fields and woods. It is the ideal domicile for group holidays, for example for family reunions, large birthday parties, golf groups, choir weeks, yoga weeks, cycling training weeks, cooking group holidays, wine lovers' holidays. The surrounding area offers many opportunities for shopping, excursions, culture and activities. This is how you live: Each room has its own bathroom in the spacious, tastefully rustic house. One double room on the ground floor is wheelchair accessible. Other amenities include a well-equipped kitchen, a library, a pool table, table football, table tennis, Wii console, TV, WIFI, laundry room, heating and, above all, a large, lockable and heated pool area with children's pool.Rooms available: Ground floor: Entrance hall with play area, sofas and stairs to the upper floor. Large kitchen with dining table, large dining room with a small river flowing through the room under a glass panel, spacious lounge with fireplace and sofas. Each room has a door to the park-like garden. To the rear is a cosy veranda with dining facilities for 24 people and a lounge with access to the large lawn for playing. A laundry room and a double bedroom with bathroom (wheelchair accessible) are also located on this floor. Upper floor: 2 suites with double bed and bathroom, 3 double rooms, 3 2-bed rooms. All rooms with private bathroom. Library with sofa. Each room has a beautiful view of either the well-kept south side with pool, stream, fountain and pizza oven, or the somewhat wilder north side with its forest-like trees.Gîte: On the east side of the house there is a small 2-room apartment on the upper floor with 2 beds, kitchen, bathroom and a cosy, furnished veranda. Facilities for children: Small playground with trampoline, playhouse. Outdoor play equipment, Wii console, table tennis, pool. 2 cots and 2 extra beds available. DVD player with TV. Activities: Excursions to castles, vineyards (Bordeaux, Cognac), beaches, towns (Bordeaux, Saintes, La Rochelle) to the sea, to beaches. Bike tours, hikes, wine tastings.
